Dr. Krings received a Ph.D. and M.S. degree in Computer Science from UNL and a Dipl.Ing. in Electrical Engineering from the FH Aachen, Germany. He is a professor of Computer Science and has been at the University of Idaho since 1995.

His research interests include:

Fault-tolerant System Design
Survivable Systems and Networks
Critical Infrastructure Protection
Computer Communication Networks
Wireless Networks, Mobile Computing
Agreement Algorithms
Scheduling Theory
