In this simple game the ladybug (or ladybird beatle) tries to capture the aphids. However, the aphids are evolving. Everytime one aphid is capture one of the other aphids reproduces, creating an offspring that is a minor variant of its parent. Over time, as the less successful aphids are caught and the more successful aphids reproduces, the entire aphid population evovles.

You can chase the aphids yourself with the mouse, or use the buttons to make the ladybug behave autonomously. You can also change the background color and see what effect that has on the aphids' evolution.
