Textbook:
Required: Evans, Martin, and Poatsy, Technology in Action, Sixth Edition, Prentice Hall

About the Course: This course is meant as an introduciton to computer science from the bottom up. We will cover material ranging from the binary number system to how the World Wide Web operates. In addition, it serves as introduction to some important computer science skills such as programming and web design.

Exams: There will be two midterm exams and a comprehensive final.

Assignments: Assignments will be given both during class and during the recitation sections. Assignments will be given roughly one per week.
Quizes: Quizes will occasionally be given during the recitation secitons. They will be counted as assignements.
Projects: There will three larger projects through the course of the semester.

Late Work: Late work will not be accepted without a suitable reason.

Grading:
Exams: 12%, 12%, 15%
Assignments/quizes: 31% total
Projects: 10% each.
