Each CS 481 project team is expected to establish and maintain a project web site using a Unix account created on one of the CS Department's computers. This web site will form the hub of a project communication system accessible to the team, the instructor, and the project sponsor.
The project web site must provide access to the following information:
An overview of the project and links to important project information: Vision and Values, Documents, Meetings, Milestones, and Releases.
The team's project vision and values.
An archive of the project's formal documents separated into technical documentation and management documentation categories. All versions of the documents are to be available. Technical documentation includes: operational specification, design specification, test specification, and usage documentation (if requested). Management documentation includes: project task list, risk assessment, issues list, defect log, test log, and StatCVS metrics.
An archive of meeting agendas, meeting minutes, and formal presentations. These should be divided into two categories: (1) weekly project meetings, and (2) customer meetings.
The planned milestone schedule for the project. The milestone schedule lists the planned completion date for major project events such as the concept presentation and product releases.
Links to the release distribution package for each release made.
All of the information identified above must reside in the Unix account provided. No links to other machines shall be required. This means that you must use CVS on the CS machine to manage your source code.
