Meeting Minutes

 
Purpose: Go over project proposal/presentation details.  Talk about questions and research of project.

Attendees: Dr. Junk, Frank, Michael, Ryan, and Andrew

Summary of Items Discussed:

We talked about what each team member had been doing during the last week.
Andrew- Investigated SPE coding techniques and looked at C code for AES.
Mike- Is setting up Linux machine for development.  Looked at compiler directive issues on PS3 for AES code.
Ryan-Working on draft for presentation
Frank-Found alternative AES code source.  Researched compiling on Cell processor.

Talked about coding issues / problems with NIST code.

Talked about timing issues of team – We need to make sure that we have similar amount of hours each week and that enough work is being done to finish project successfully.

Looked at website- Talked about milestones: We might want to remove operational spec.

Talked about bench marking code- Measuring throughput and latency
                               - How do want to define these?
                               - Talked about change in performance with change in input


Looked at task list- we need to add more tasks dealing with proposal.

Looked at minutes – we need to switch agenda and minutes columns.

Looked at vision statement

We went over concept proposal on website:

-We need to record interesting discoveries encountered in project to give to Cody
-We need to think about performance issues in proposal	
-We need to present at least one primary use case
-Use case: look at from stand point of primary user/talk about what steps are what the program is doing underneath.
-We need to talk about breaking up the AES algorithm
-We need to talk about the strategy we are going to use
-We need to talk about how we are going to do testing:
-Algorithm and user tool
-Automate testing procedure
-Might have to test user interface manually-
-Ex: What happens if given empty file to read?
-We need to talk about milestone schedule
-We need to talk about risk assessment: i.e. What might stop the project?  Both technical and non-technical issues.
-We need strategies to combat these risks.

Add team values to vision statement.
Find out what kind of user interface is expected by Cody.
Talk to Cody about our approach to the project.
